Since 1969, ACU has honored its most generous donors with membership in the President’s Circle. Members of the President’s Circle change the lives of ACU students by taking a leadership role in their future through unparalleled generosity that funds scholarships, provides facilities and boosts the quality of life on campus.
A cumulative gift of at least $1,000 to the university during a calendar year qualifies the donor for membership.
Members enjoy an invitation to the President’s Circle Dinner each spring during Sing Song weekend.
For more information about the President’s Circle and its benefits or the President’s Circle Dinner, contact Samantha Adkins by email or phone at 325-674-2589. Or, you can give online and stand with ACU and our students as we prepare them to be Christ-centered servant leaders who make a real difference in the world.
In grateful recognition of dedicated giving to Abilene Christian University
The Purple Line Society recognizes ACU’s most faithful donors for their long-term commitment to the mission and vision of the university. Through their faithful giving, members join a long purple line of men and women who love our students and want them and future generations to know the life-changing experience of an ACU education.
Purple: 5 to 9 years of giving
White: 10 to 24 years of giving
Silver: 25 to 49 years of giving
Gold: 50 or more years of giving
Purple Line Society members who reach the Purple, White or Silver levels receive a special pin as a small token of our gratitude. These pins can be picked up each year at Homecoming. New Gold level members receive a pin along with special recognition at our annual President’s Circle Dinner each spring.
We are grateful to our Purple Line Society members for their devotion to our university, our students and our mission, and for their partnership with us in the life-giving work of educating students for Christian service and leadership throughout the world.
ACU is blessed to have many faithful supporters walking alongside us in our mission to educate students for Christian service and leadership throughout the world. In honor of the long and significant commitment of these dedicated supporters, we are excited to launch our new lifetime giving societies to recognize the total amount given toward our mission.
We hope these societies, named after significant locations and figures in ACU history, serve as a reminder of the generational impact our donors have over their lifetime as well as inspiring others to give generously.
Jacob’s Dream Society – $1 million+
This society, for those who have given $1 million or more to ACU, is named for the iconic sculpture on our campus – created in 2006 by Jack Maxwell, professor emeritus of art and design. The remarkable statue tells the story from Genesis 28 of Jacob’s vision of angels ascending and descending a stairway to heaven. In the dream, God promises Jacob, “I am with you and will watch over you wherever you go.” God continues to fulfill that promise in the lives of his followers today, and the generosity of this exclusive group serves as a reminder of God’s provision.
This society, for those who have given $750,000 or more, is named after A.B. Barret, ACU’s founder and first president. He believed in the purpose and mission of this university even before it began accepting students, and his vision and dedication to a world-class, Christ-centered institution laid the foundation on which we thrive today.
This society, for those who have given $500,000 or more, is named after Dr. Don H. Morris, ACU’s seventh and longest-serving president, who served from 1940-69. He was the first former student to hold the position of president, and his leadership ushered in one of the university’s greatest periods of growth and development.
This society, for those who have given $250,000 or more, is named after Dr. John C. Stevens, ACU’s eighth president, who served from 1969-81. He guided the institution through the shift from college to university, and his leadership and investment in financial aid programs boosted enrollment to record levels.
This society, for those who have given $100,000 or more, is named after Dr. William J. Teague, ACU’s ninth president, who served from 1981-91. He oversaw a period of enormous growth thanks to a burgeoning endowment and the construction of two campus cornerstones: the Onstead-Packer Biblical Studies Building and Mabee Business Building.
