Young Alumnus of the Year

This award recognizes professional achievement and/or distinguished service to Abilene Christian University. To be eligible, a recipient must not be over 40 years of age at the time of selection. Make a nomination.

The 2017 Young Alumnus of the Year is Chelsea (Thornton ’01) Buchholtz, of Austin, Texas.

​As chief of staff for the Texas Juvenile Justice Department, Buchholtz is continuing her career spent working to improve the Texas criminal justice system. She previously served as general counsel for the department, and prior to that, as assistant general counsel and later advisor to the governor of Texas.
